Recommended Build for the Templar Class

Posted by tomato on Friday Apr 18, 2014 Under Class, Guide

The Templar class in Elder Scrolls Online excels at healing. Thus, most Templar builds will have an emphasis on support and requires selecting one of three races that have high affinity for support spells. These three spellcasting races include the Altmer, the Breton, and the Dunmer. The Altmer specialize in both offense and support, allowing the player to have a more balanced approach in their gameplay. In other words, it is arguably the most balanced of the three races.

Players should use their attribute points to increase their magicka stat. A magicka-focused approach maximizes the player’s DPS, decreases cool down periods, and helps the player survive resulting in level faster. Furthermore, most builds benefit from using light armor. Light armor increases magicka regeneration, makes it more likely to execute a critical heal, and reduces the cost for using spells.

Newer players might want to try the Restoration Staff. This weapon offers passives–like bonus healing–that are highly compatible with the Templar class. In other words, regardless of which weapon players decide to play with, they must make sure their weapon is compatible with the Templar’s abilities. Furthermore, there are many weapons that are compatible with the Templar; that is, each allows a different playstyle and helps counter specific enemies.

There are three skill trees for the Templar: (a) Restoring Light; (b) Dawn’s Wrath; and (c) Aedric Spear.

Restoring Light benefits from all passive abilities. Recommended actives include Rushed Ceremony, an instant heal, and Healing Ritual, an AoE heal that heals the user for 30 percent health. Rite of Passage is not worth pursuing because it locks the player in place and decreases their survivability.

Dawn’s Wrath has an emphasis on ranged offensive abilities and, like Restoring Light, benefits from all passives, too. Recommended actives include Sun Fire, Solar Flare, and Nova. Solar Flare has high synergy with other spells because it increases damage output for the next spell used (except Solar Flare). Nova deals significant damage, stuns groups of enemies, and reduces their damage output by 40 percent.

Aedric Spear allows Templar users to deal consistent damage while maintaining high mobility. Players should only put points into passive abilities if they have extra points. Some noteworthy passives include Piercing Spear and Spear Wall. Respectively, these passives increase damage output and damage mitigation while blocking. Recommended actives include Puncturing Strikes, Piercing Javelin, and Sweeping Strikes. The first two increases the player’s offensive capabilities while the Sweeping Strikes is inexpensive, but unfortunately worse than Nova when it comes to AoE damage.

ESO Templar Leveling Tips

Posted by Sun Master on Friday Feb 28, 2014 Under Class, Guide, Skills

Some of the latest updates in the article below are not taken into account yet. However, for a more comprehensive and up-to-date details on advanced strategies, you should take a look into this manual from KillerGuides. This was how I was able to make my Templar reach level 50 within a week. Read my review of the guide here.

Templars in Elder Scrolls Online can be tanks, healers or damage dealers and can level efficiently in any role with the use of the flexible and customizable class and weapon system. No matter what role you prefer, you should follow these six leveling tips to make leveling simple:

Note: These tips will be for Templars specifically.

ESO Templar Leveling Tips

1. Choose a build that lets you do a bit of everything.

One of the strengths of the Templar class is that they can do a bit of everything. You should keep this in mind when creating your leveling build. Even if you are leveling as a healer, for example, you should have one weapon set that’s at least partially dedicated to DPS. If you’re leveling as a pure DPS, make sure to have a few self-healing options and crowd control options.

2. Choose two weapon types that grant you more flexibility.

Again, think flexibility when it comes to choosing your two weapon sets. Having one melee set and one ranged set– or even two ranged sets– is generally a smarter idea than having two melee sets or two of the same weapon type.

3. Quest, quest, quest.

Completing quests grants you the largest chunks of experience by far. Complete as many quests as possible, but don’t rush through areas. Take some time to explore areas (and stick to the road!) to discover side quests in every area.

4. Used balanced attributes.

You will most likely find it best to balance out your attributes while leveling. You can reset them at any time. Following a setup like Magicka > Health > Stamina will fit most Templar casters well, for example. Tailor your attributes to what you notice you commonly run out of first.

5. Interrupt, block and dodge are your friends.

It’s also important to save Stamina during fights to interrupt, block and roll out of dangerous ground effects. Blocking harmful attacks will generally disorient an enemy which can be a huge help when taking out two or more enemies at a time.

6. Pull carefully.

Mobs tend to respawn quickly in ESO. As you gain more levels, mobs will also be in larger packs. Pull carefully and utilize Sneak if you have to in order to avoid dangerous groups. Remember to slot some type of crowd control that can be used to make the initial pull easier. The Templar ranged spells often work well for pulling.

Playing Solo as the TESO Templar Class

Some of the latest updates in the article below are not taken into account yet. However, for a more comprehensive and up-to-date details on advanced strategies, you should take a look into KillerGuides' digital handbook. This was how I was able to make my Templar reach level 50 within a week. Read my review of the guide here.

If you prefer to play solo in the Elder Scrolls Online, you could take a closer peek to the Templar class. The Templar has the ability to strike a fine balance healer and warrior, despite popular opinion that would cast the Templar in the role of healer exclusively. We’re going to go over a few Templar basics and leave you with a strong understanding of the potential that lies within the Templar for solo play.

gameplay teso

First off, don’t underestimate the Templar’s ability to heal. In any heated battle you find yourself in, healing will go along way when you don’t have friends to turn to for help. With the right choice of weapon, the templar could become invincible and has no chance to run out of health. To bring in another cliched phrase, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” When this is applied to healing, there is no better class than the Templar. Further, the range of abilities at your disposal that relate to healing are many. Really, you’re going to have to play around some and see what suits you the best. The truth be told though, whatever you go with, be it Breath of life, Cleansing Ritual, or any of the other active abilities of the Templar, you can’t go wrong.

When we speak of the Templar as a combatant, we speak of a fierce battler. In the Templars Aedric Spear line, the options for active abilities are many. Puncturing strikes, Piercing Javelin, Spear Shards, and on down the line. The passive abilities of the Templar are nothing to sneeze at either not as less as eso nightblade. Really, it’s all dependent on you as a player and the enemies you come up against. What can’t be understated is that the Templar is someone not to be triffled with in battle. Like with the Templar’s healing abilities, the choices for attacks are many, but each choice is considerable. You really can’t go wrong. Also, like with healing abilities, you really need to play around some and see what fits your style.

ESO Templar is a choice you should strongly consider if you want to play the game alone. Although it might not has dps as much as another classes, but it is the most balance elder scrolls online class of all from unique abilities to combine warrior and healer. The Elder Scrolls Online Templar is truely in a class all of it’s own, soaring majestically (and quite eagle like mind you) above the rest of the flock.

Perfect Class Partner for Elder Scrolls Online Templar

The Elder Scrolls Online is the latest installment of the epic Elder Scrolls video game series. This massive multiplayer online roleplaying game brings the world into a clearer focus, and provides players a new, cooperative environment to quest in. For players who want to build a Templar class for the elder scrolls, it’s important to have the perfect partner.

The Sorcerer

The Sorcerer is an ideal partner for a Templar when it’s time to get into the field. If the Templar represents muscle and divine power, then the Sorcerer brings arcane pain to the enemies. When combined these two can easily create a one-two punch that will leave even the biggest hordes of enemies staggered and smashed.

The Combinations

The Templar mixes divine casting with heavy armor and hard-hitting combat prowess. The Sorcerer is not as martially inclined, but with a stop-gap between the enemies and the magic-user, the Sorcerer has time to use the most effective magical abilities he can bring forth. Crowd control magic can freeze enemies in place, allowing the Templar to deal out damage to targets that can’t defend themselves properly.

If enemies are keeping their distance, then both the Sorcerer and the Templar can fire magic from range to make sure the bad guys go down. When it comes to in-close fighting the Templar can keep both himself and the Sorcerer healed, allowing them to keep going and to win by attrition if that becomes necessary. Additionally, refer to esolevelguide.com, the Sorcerer and the Templar can use some, select abilities to buff themselves and each other, increasing their deadliness and making them an even bigger threat to any enemies that back them up against a wall.

Lastly, the Sorcerer can provide reinforcements for the Templar so that he doesn’t have to stand alone on the front lines. Summoned creatures, while not as powerful as the Templar when it comes to dealing damage, can help surround enemies and ensure that no one slips through the line alive. These summoned allies might be temporary, but they can provide the necessary support needed to gang up on big enemies, and to help hold back hordes so heroes don’t get overrun.

What About Other Classes?

According to the Templar guide, this class works well with pretty much all the other classes in Elder Scrolls Online. Nightblades are perhaps the second best class for partners, since Templar can hold their ground and go toe-to-toe with enemies, and the Nightblade can harry the enemy from the flanks, using magic to increase his effectiveness. The elder scrolls online dragonknight guide also makes a powerful ally for slugging it out with the bad guys when a Templar needs someone to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with.

In the end, neither of these classes will offer the same synergistic benefits that come with having a Sorcerer backing up a Templar’s play. The magical might of the Sorcerer when combined with the steel and faith of the Templar brings the divine and the arcane into alignment, creating a single unit that can launch an assault that no other combination can truly rival.
