If you prefer to play solo in the Elder Scrolls Online, you could take a closer peek to the Templar class. The Templar has the ability to strike a fine balance healer and warrior, despite popular opinion that would cast the Templar in the role of healer exclusively. We’re going to go over a few Templar basics and leave you with a strong understanding of the potential that lies within the Templar for solo play.

First off, don’t underestimate the Templar’s ability to heal. In any heated battle you find yourself in, healing will go along way when you don’t have friends to turn to for help. With the right choice of weapon, the templar could become invincible and has no chance to run out of health. To bring in another cliched phrase, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” When this is applied to healing, there is no better class than the Templar. Further, the range of abilities at your disposal that relate to healing are many. Really, you’re going to have to play around some and see what suits you the best. The truth be told though, whatever you go with, be it Breath of life, Cleansing Ritual, or any of the other active abilities of the Templar, you can’t go wrong.

When we speak of the Templar as a combatant, we speak of a fierce battler. In the Templars Aedric Spear line, the options for active abilities are many. Puncturing strikes, Piercing Javelin, Spear Shards, and on down the line. The passive abilities of the Templar are nothing to sneeze at either not as less as eso nightblade. Really, it’s all dependent on you as a player and the enemies you come up against. What can’t be understated is that the Templar is someone not to be triffled with in battle. Like with the Templar’s healing abilities, the choices for attacks are many, but each choice is considerable. You really can’t go wrong. Also, like with healing abilities, you really need to play around some and see what fits your style.

ESO Templar is a choice you should strongly consider if you want to play the game alone. Although it might not has dps as much as another classes, but it is the most balance elder scrolls online class of all from unique abilities to combine warrior and healer. The Elder Scrolls Online Templar is truely in a class all of it’s own, soaring majestically (and quite eagle like mind you) above the rest of the flock.

3 Templar skill lines explained

The Templar class is considered as the best tanking class in the Elder Scrolls Online from its impenetrable defense and sun magic at disposal to bolster allies or smite enemies. For starters, the Templar gameplay is very similar to a paladin or crusader in other MMO in the ways of how the class interacts directly with other characters. There are three main skill lines for the Templar as followings:

  • Aedric Spear
  • Dawn’s Wrath
  • Restoring Light

Bringing spells like Focused Charge to the table to disorient your opponent and then finishing them off with a melee combo knock down like Puncturing Strikes. This skill line is best for those who are into PvP combat or like to do melee damage.

The next skill line would be Dawn’s Wrath, which focuses more on spellcasting AoE type skill set. This particular templar skill guide line is very key for a group or raid due to how much the spells in this skill line interact with many opponents. For example, most of the spells in Dawn’s Wrath are not only AoE, but also have some type of secondary status effect, whether it’s damage over time, snare, stun or even damage mitigation, Dawn’s Wrath will always have some impact on the bigger picture in larger conflicts, like a raid setting.

Last but not least, Restoring Light. One of the more iconic skill line’s of the Templar class, it offers a lot of defensive healing utility for you and your class partner. With a whole arsenal of holy light spells at your disposal like Restoring Aura which functions as a heal over time aura. One spell that has proven itself useful time and time again is Restoring Light’s ultimate spell, Rite of Passage. A channeled spell, it reduces damage in an AoE radius near the caster.

If you’re looking to get into tanking for PvE game play, consider dipping into the Aedric Spear skill line first for easier leveling as suggested in elderscrollslevelingguide.com then branching off into Dawn’s Wrath for the AoE spells which will help mitigate lots of unwanted damage. Regardless of your choice, make sure to get a blend of spells that compliment each other perfectly for your role.
